About project
Project “Jobs in rural regions”

The project "Employment in rural areas” is financed by the EU Delegation in Serbia, implementing from 01.03.2011. to 01.03.2013. The Project covers 5 municipalities of Eastern Serbia: Veliko Gradiste, Golubac, Kladovo, Negotin, Zajecar.

The overall project objective is to create new employment opportunities and reduce emigration from rural areas of Serbia, as well as improving the capacity of Ethno network as an engine for the growth of employment in rural areas. Work activities planned by the project should lead to a boost of preserving cultural traditions, increasing the quality of production, networking ethnic associations in the region, the possibility participating in foreign markets and the economic empowerment of women in rural areas. Also, tourism and hospitality industry in Serbia will have a great benefit of these activities, because the manufactured handicraft and presentations of traditional crafts and skills will provide an additional tourist offer that is missing at this moment in Serbia.
